The Effect of Leader Humor on Employees' Feedback-seeking Behavior: The Mediation Role of PROmotion Focus

  • Based on the regulatory focus theory, this study explores the influence of leader humor styles on employees' feedback-seeking behavior and the mediation role of PROmotion focus as well as the moderation role of employees' locus of control. Empirical results indicate that leader humor has a significant impact on employees' feedback-seeking behavior; affiliate humor is positively correlated with employees' feedback-seeking behavior, while AGgressive humor is negatively correlated with it; PROmotion focus mediates the relationship between leader humor and employees' feedback-seeking behavior; the employees' locus of control play a negative role in moderation between leader humor and PROmotion focus. This study enriches the researches of the mechanism for leader humor.
